Changing my review, as I found out something, and I think people might not be aware of this.To play direct into a PA/mixer/computer, you definitely need to turn the cab sim ON. For the first couple days I had it, I couldn't figure out for the life of me where the Cab Sim toggle was. It's not in the manual! How to do it: The LED light is also a button. Hold the light button down for a few seconds, and when it flashes, it will turn cab sim off/on. When the cab sim is on, the light will blink steadily. When cab sim is off, it will stay lit up.I have to think at least some of the negative reviewers aren't using the cab sim right, because it's going to sound like total garbage if you're not applying it correctly. When using this thing right, it sounds great. Very loud, big bottom end, as much gain as you could need for anything, responsive EQ. Sounds killer direct, even makes my little practice amp sounds nice when I run through that. It's probably more intended to produce over the top scooped out chugga metal sounds, but I've found its very possible to also get good tight woody sounding hard rock tones if you coax the dials to a sweet spot. Drop the gain a bit, drop the bass a little, don't over-scoop the mids. Whatever you're looking for, this pedal is super hot with tons of headroom and all sorts of saturation. Great bang for the buck.Oh, even using the cab sim right, the clean channel is pretty damn bland and lifeless. Not offensive, but not much character. Might be an ok platform for reverbs and delays etc, but there are better preamp type petals to get you cleaner tones. Just know that the meat here is in the high gain channel, and you're set.
