They are quality gas cans, at a good price.MY SITUATION/REVIEW:So I ran out of gas at the airport before leaving for a trip and bought this gas can to be delivered home before I would get back. My plan was to catch a rideshare home, pick up the can, get some gas, and bring it back to the airport. I was really apprehensive about getting this can and potentially being stuck at the airport, because of all the negative reviews stating that it's really hard to use or they couldn't figure it out. Despite that, I'm really glad I got it, because it work fantastic! I found it extremely simple to use once I understood how the safety mechanism worked. I played with it for a little, maybe like a minute or two, because at first I didn't get it but once I figured it out it was smooth sailing. The can I got was the one with the black nozzle. So the product nozzle is not quite like the picture shown in the actual product link, so I'll attach a picture. It has a little red button on the side of the nozzle with a black tab just above that.HOW TO USE IT:In order to get the gas flowing you have to depress(push) the base of little red button until you hear it CLICK. Then the shaft of the nozzle SLIDES DOWN towards the can to release the gas when you insert the nozzle shaft into the tank. The black tab above the red button allows the nozzle shaft to slide down once you place the nozzle in the tank. This is because it hooks on to the side of the tank as you push at the base of the can. Not a lot of pressure is needed for this to occur. It feels kind of like there is some sort of spring mechanism going on when you push against it. Each time you remove the can and nozzle from the tank you will have to depress the red button in order for the gas to flow freely. I'm assuming that's the safety feature.**NOTE FOR MIDWEST CAN:It would have definitely helped if the can came with instructions as to how the safety feature works. That seems to be the roadblock for many people purchasing this product. I was able to figure it out without instruction, however, I did catch a glimpse of a review where the person mentioned something about the tab having to do with the flow. That review is what gave me a clue as to how the safety feature worked. Considering most people buying and reviewing this product are probably used to the old school free flowing cans, I can understand why the safety feature presents such an obstacle. I believe these are the consumers who could definitely benefit from having instructions come with the product. Luckily for me tinkering with the product for a couple minutes was enough for me to understand it.REVIEW CONTINUED:The can itself is very sturdy and feels really thick. I had no issues with gas leaking out of the container from anywhere. The can I got was 1 gallon 4 oz, but when I filled up at the gas station it held 1.94 gallon worth of gas. The can did what it was supposed to. I had no real issues with it aside from there still being just a bit of gas left in there(it didn't completely empty). Not sure if that is because of the way my gas tank is oriented in my car or if that is an issue unique to the can itself. Considering this is my first time ever using a gas can, and one with a safety feature at that, it was pretty straightforward and I am happy with my purchase.Ordered kit to make pouring gas easy. Always store can with the "stopper disc seal" to prevent leaks.Note: 1/2 full MAX FILL if storing in the trunk all the time.I bought it because there are times when gas stations are a long ways away on my motorcycle. It’s small enough to strap it on the bike and helps if you need a little extra gasoline when stations are a long way away.Thye work so far No problemsEasy to use and handle 5 gallon gas tank. I am happy with it.It's red and it holds gas or kerosene what else there to know? ;-)Leaks. Wear good gloves to avoid the mess and refill outside to avoid a bigger mess.
